I gotta tell you, Sam and I sat across the desk from each other today and both took in a huge sigh of relief. You know, when you work so far in advance you have like a year of anxiety and anticipation (not sure if those are the words I am looking for) built up. I think we are totally are worst critics. We over analyze every little thing we do. Once we get the collection to where we want it we take it to Lynette and crew and they go through it and we kinda start all over. It’s a lot to feel all eyes on you. But Good Hart, I think we just knew it. There is this love and belief built all around it. I gotta say, it’s a good place to be. You know the place where you actually feel confident. You know you gave it your all and you know when you lay it all out on the table, it is you to the core.
Side note: Why is it when you tuck kids in they have to get up like every other minute…Where are my snowpants? Can I put my homework in my bag? Joe’s music is too loud? I think I heard a noise? And trust me, I am certain there will be a 5th question before I finish this post.
We worked on Art Fair with Cheryl at Party Apart today. I love that lady! I love when we say, beautiful , dreamy, and super cool/arty she gets it. And that is pretty much all the explaining we need to do. I am telling you, promising you…okay, well there’s lots of events, but let’s focus on Pre-Party right now…The Pre-Party is going to be breathe taking. I promise you. I do. I super excited about so many components of it. And having it downtown is the perfect choice. If you have not gotten your ticket yet, please do so before the event. Especially if you have kids, cuz I really need to know how many boys and girls. I can;t wait to tell you the theme, and can’t wait for you to see ….
Sorry I have been dreaming way to much today. And it’s kinda Sam’s fault cuz we are both sitting here working on a line and our brains start buzzing and one thing becomes 20.
And perfect timing….because now Gabe is screaming my name.
Seriously, my kids used to go to bed so easily. Read a book, tuck in, Goodnight, kiss and I luv ya… Now it’s like this never ending “how long can I push mom till she gets mad?”
Good Night- Denise

How exciting! I can’t wait to see what the theme is! When I read about it, I keep thinking like a fairytale or something! LOL.. I’m super excited for Art Fair this year!!
P.S. Love the dress posted! It’s so adorable!
You have to read this blog entry if you haven’t about kids’ bedtime…I promise you will be laughing so hard you are crying. This is an awesome blog of which I have NO connection to either!

So excited for the events at AF! Thank you so much for the luncheon opportunity! I cannot wait!
Welcome to my life 🙂 Giuliana does it to me for a guaranteed 20 minutes… Or until I start counting to 3 😉
I am really new to your site. What dress is in this picture?? I absolutely love it! Is it available now?
Hahaha! That sounds JUST LIKE my 4 year old! She is has already come out about 8 times tonight, sits by the railing, and chats with my husband sitting in the living room below. She rambles from one thing to the next from dreaming about her family to telling us Nana is so silly! Though its hard to deal with each time and convince her to go back into bed, I love that every time her conversation ends with “I love you Mommy!” It’s at that moment that I realize this won’t happen forever and I should just enjoy it right now and let those words go straight to my heart and warm it right up!
Love those pants! And can’t wait to hear more about Art Fair!!!
Sooooo excited can’t wait!
I’m excited! My daughter loved the pirate party last year!!
I am happy that my girls have outgrown the pushing the bed time limit, however they have moved on to other things. We are so looking forward to art fair this year! Sad that my girls aren’t considered “girls” anymore according to MJC (10 and over).
My daughter was walking around tonight saying I’m going to tilda jane art fair this summer….is it summer yet????? She is only 3 but totally gets that it is her first time for something fun in her summer dress!!!!
Mine too! My 7 year old, lily Kate is finally asleep. However my 3 year old jack is still awake..I can hear him thru the monitor. “mommy, when I wake up I want to make an inside beach”. How we are going to manage that..haven’t figured out. Will have to rely on his creativity and good strong coffee as my kids tend to wake up at 6am!!
All to familiar with the 20 ?s after bedtime. Aiden also ends up in our bed most nights. It worked out well last night though because I had insomnia and as soon as he climed into my arms and a snuggled up to him, smelled his still baby scent (even at 7, he’s my baby) I was out with a smile of love on my face!
I purchased my Pre-Party tickets already, but didn’t see anyplace to mark girl or boy. Although I am bringing 3 10 year old girls, so I bought 10 year and older tickets. Hope I did everythimg right! Can’t wait for Art Fai and my daughter can’t wait to share Matilda Jane with her friends!
Wait till your kids are teenagers and can drive because there no more even really telling them to go to bed. Like tonight my boys drove into town to get a new video game, I asked why, and they said because.
I love putting my to younger ones to bed, and I don’t even care if I have to read 10 books before my daughter finally has enough, going to miss that when she gets older.
*I think Matilda Jane needs a book, some cute story about a girl going to a Art Fair.
Planning on coming with my daughter and my son to art fair but can’t buy tickets right now. All extra spending money went to daughter birthday this week and Oh had to buy some of the new line, my daughter even picked out what she wanted.
I totally understand the bedtime thing! My 10 year old does the same thing. 🙂 I can’t wait to find out the pre-party theme! Exciting! Good Hart is a success! So beautiful as always. Y’all are oozing with talent. 🙂
the collection is gorgeous!
So glad I’m not the only one with kids that don’t understand “Go to bed!” 🙂 Gosh, I wish I could just go to bed! My how things change!- Denise
Sooo excited for af again this year, you have no idea!! Buying tickets the other day made it so real to me. And even more excited (and a little nervous) about the luncheon on Friday!! Nervous only because I can be shy around new people but cannot wait to hear more of the story behind Chicks for Children!!!
I love this line so much!! You ladies are amazing I’m hoping to save enough to be able to come to the art fair this year!! This Alabama girl wishes you guys would come to faihope arts and crafts one day:) it’s a great town and venue;)
This is 4 sure 100% one of my favorites!!!!! Love this!
Just threw something out there LOL Need to do some research on this song. Love it but never heard of it before!
I can so relate to your post about kids getting up constantly after being tucked in. The best one to date is my daughter (3 at the time) getting up to tell me she had a wedgie. 🙂
@Shannon H – after stalking the MJ blog (looking for a sneaky-peek…and not getting one of the Good Hart -2nd release.. sigh) I read your comment about bedtime and the blog
http://momastery.com/blog/2012/05/22/whack-a-mole/ – oh my goodness, so funny!
