With Love…..

Last week took my breath away. It was everything I wanted and more. I told David what I cared the most about for 435 was that everyone left with a smile, that their children were happy and that they got to meet many of my girls.  I got my wish.

On Friday, Vivian got her wish.  It is with a  very heavy heart and tear filled eyes that we said good bye to Vivian as she sets out to conquer her own dreams.  Vivian came to us as a temp that we loved so much we hired her full time.  I love this girl, adore her and every time I see her I just have to hug her.  I love her as my own.  She went to visit her family some time ago in the Philippines and came back missing them more than ever.  I am so proud of her for making the decision, a tough one that many of her hometown friends could not understand, the decision to move back to the Philippines with her parents and finish her schooling.  I told her while I was incredibly sad for selfish reasons (I am gonna miss her like crazy) I am beyond happy for her for doing what she feels will make her happiest and most fulfilled.  Oh, and you betcha, next time we head to China we are making a stop in the Philippines.

And Miss Jami Davis, you stole my heart again….. Let me know if it steals your heart.

Good luck to Vivian–it’s always best to follow your heart, but it sounds like you’ll have a heart divided… Love the video… I so want to come to Art Fair next year, now that I see all that I missed…

I was part of the Indiana/Phillippines Medical and Dental Mission in January 2005. We stayed in La Union for the mission and traveled to different areas on each day. I have to say that the folks there were so sweet and polite! I had such an amazing time and my trip there has forever changed me! In fact, my profile picture is from our “vacation time” after our mission trip. We were on the island of Cebu. So beautiful, if you do stop there on your way to China…you have to visit Cebu and Bagio City! Best of luck to Vivian and safe travels!!!

How bittersweet. I’m so happy for Vivian to be with her family in the Philippines and so sad for you, her MJ family, because I know how much you’ll miss her. I wish her the best! Jami’s sentiment speaks to me and her Art Fair pics are beautiful. Please consider bottling the water so we can all share the magic. :)

I think everyone should follow their dreams and what they feel is right in their hearts. May the rest of your journey be a safe one and filled with wonderful family memories.

WOW. Great job Jami. Between this post and Jami’s slide show I’ve got to figure a way for me and my girls to come next year. Truly looks like the party of the year.

I got to meet sweet Vivian! I thought she might be trampled restocking items at the art fair!! But she did it with a smile! The slide show was amazing! Loved it! Got to see some of the details I missed at 435 since it was a little chaotic ( but awesome)!!!

Wonderful choice Vivian! We lived in Northern California for 18 months. It was 2 hours to the beach, Tahoe, wine country, or San Francisco. As Adele sang “We could’ve had it all”. We gave up the “all” because it didn’t include family. Best wishes to you! Best wishes to Denise and the ladies of 435; it’s hard when you miss someone.

Shannan Fields - July 3, 2011 - 11:44 am

I wish her the best of luck! I can’t imagine how tough that decision was for her! And how sweet is the video! It’s great to see it in her pics, as it was just impossible to take it all in! The details you girls put into 435 is beyond amazing! And there’s even a little peek of WK at the end! :)

I can only imagine how happy Vivian is, to go home with your mom what a great feeling. I am sure that her mom is so glad she had her Matilda Jane family here to love her so much! People are brought into our lives for a time and a reason!

Best Wishes to Vivian! And I was not able to attend Art Fair this year due to medical reasons but I wanted to say Jami’s work is amazing. After reading her blog and then watching the slide I got gose bumps! So many beautiful people smiling, having fun, the games, the beautiful clothes. i think I watched it three times but after veiwing the first time I felt as if I were there. I’m so greatful for her sharing her work. Hopefully next year I will get to attend and be one of those smiling faces.
