10 more days. Wow. 10 more days till Sam and I can breathe again. Sigh. 10 more days and our Trunk Keepers will forget what taking a break means. Love those girls. 10 more days till the home office is in swing of spring. Yay. 10 more days and I think we have a board meeting. Yikes.
This is crazy. Spring 14 launches in 10 more days. Fall 14 is covering Sarah (Yama) and Maddie’s desk. Spring 15 fabric is coming off my printer this very moment.

I thought this pic from my phone summed up my week. I’m certain yours is quite the same. Crazy how much we can pack into our lives, huh? But the crazy thing is…now that I’m this “new” gal…I so don’t stress as much. It’s a little off for me. Usually I pack as much as I can into a day. I time everything to the second. A constant game of beat the clock. Tic Toc. Tic Toc. I’m thinking, and my thoughts change very quickly. I’m pretty sure it has something to do with being bald. Being bald, and no eyelashes and weirdo eyebrows. Furry balding bear eyebrows. I really can’t stress over what people think of me. I look ridiculous but I have no control over it. I mean how often do you, “us girls” stress over our looks? 24-7. So with letting that “gosh I look bad stress”go, I have also let go of the stress of things I can’t control. Aghhhh..I am so starting to ramble.
Refocus.
What I really wanted to be sure to blog was a HUGE thank you for all your great thoughts on what Matilda Jane meant to you. I have a little surprise for those who left comments on the “More than Words…” post. You girls are going to get 6 pieces of your choice from the Release One of our Spring 14 Collection. Why you may ask? I couldn’t stop thinking, “wow, how sweet of you to take the time out of your busy day just to congratulate Kayla”. Yup, and I wanted to do something sweet for you in return. I missed this blog but I wanted to reach out and say I has been praying for you and your family and thinking about your journey in Houston. Last feb I was in the neighborhood of your hospital only I was at Texas childrens with my youngest. That whole medical plaza is filled with stories and people that make you look at your life and feel blessed to have the next few days and moments with your family. Thanks for sharing your stories and your raw emotions with the world of MJ. Your gorgeous clothes and giving heart or only a few reasons why I love MJC. I have to return to TCH in 12 days but I hope to do so with at least half the positive attitude and strength as you did during your time at MD Anderson. Remember bald is beautiful! xx

I’m firly new to MJ..totally in love <3..it is so much more than clothes!!!…we live in West Virginia, and have been without clean water for almost a week (d/t a chemical leak)..within 12 hours of no water, I had MJ mommas asking for my mailing address so they could send me clean water!! :,)…so much love!! Thanks Denise for always being so sweet. I had forgotten all about the contest after posting about my two adoption blessings the other night late. I wanted to thank you for having the contest for us. I enjoyed reading the sweet stories. But I was blessed by people sending me notes after reading my post. I did not realize it wasn’t private. Some of my sweet notes made me smile in my sleep I am quiet sure! Thanks again! On the long weeks, months that my husband travels overseas to nice places and I am home with two precious girls, sometimes I need reminding that I could not be in any better place on earth. In the middle of my hearts.

Congrats to Denise for not stressing. That is a constant battle for many and it is refreshing to read your thoughts. The things I can’t control seem to weigh me down and it is good to know that you’re not falling into that trap.
I am so excited for the new line. We just adopted a little girl who is now 22 months. She loves to wear Matilda Jane. She lights up and truly is a giggly baby that prances around. Our recent order came in (from the big sale). I got four dresses. She hugged them each and then had to try each one on to show her daddy. So, thank you for making one special little girl light up with happiness.
I can not tell you thank you enough. You have touched my family in so many ways in a few short months and I will forever be thankful. Thank you for your amazing creations and the giving heart you have shown to so many people. Kindness is an amazing gift and I thank you for the gifts you have bestowed on my family.
And that’s why I LOVE MJ…. You give and you give and you give some more. You amaze me, inspire me, and encourage me to continue to “give” to others just because. You girls at MJ are amazing!! Thank you ❤️

Oh I am in TEARS right now! Matilda Jane is definitely more than just a clothing company to us. It’s a bond between my daughter and I and an everyday reminder to do something bigger than ourselves. “Thank you” definitely feels inadequate. I completely get it now! Thank you, though, for the special sparkle I see (and feel) every time my little girl puts on a piece of Matilda Jane!
and on a side note…just so you know…as GORGEOUS as you are and always have been, your inner beauty has always radiated. I’m thinking about now you’ve hit super model status, so just own it!

I get what you’re saying….I mean really get it! I lost my 5 yr old daughter 2 years ago. Since then all of the insignificant “stuff” in life fell away. Life seems much clearer to me. What amazed me the most, is how so many people choose to be victims. After the loss of Abbey, if there was something in my life that no longer worked, I changed it. I no longer hadthe endurance, or tolerance to waste anymore time on anything less. I choose joy. Everyday I have to wake up, here without one of my sweet babies, and choose joy. I have two othe kiddos and they need me to keep going. So I choose joy. Findi g your clothing line has brought me and my daughter, sophia, some great joy. Sophia is abbey’s younger sister. She was just getting into the last clothing size Abbey wore, and I just couldn’t bri g myself to pull it out af Abbey’s drawers. Finding your line, evoked so much excitment and passion for my daughter and I, it helped me, more than you will ever know. So for that I am forever thankful to you. From the bottom of my heart thank you.
I have to tell you, that I discovered Matilda Jane not to long back, and im in love with the clothing, but also that is amaizing how beautiful person you are just from reading your blog, and thank you for being so generous, have a good day

No words…my perspective has been changed so much this week after reading about a relative of a friend with three small children under ten diagnosed with recurrent stage IV breast cancer. Her husband is currently imprisoned for crimes committed long ago AND before he was a believer in Christ. I was busy whining about credit card fraud last week (which got swiftly taken care of) and this poor woman spent her week fighting the biggest battle of her life in a cancer center receiving chemotherapy to her head, sternum and hip AWAY from her precious babies and husband.
Sometimes…too oftentimes, I need a swift kick in the pants from people like Nicole and you, Denise to remind me that I am to be the one to choose to create beauty rather than bitterness. Thank you.
Your company amazes me!!! What a wonderful surprise to both Kayla and the other winners! We love your clothing but more love your kind spirit and how much you give to others! Thanks for being an outstanding company which is hard to find in this world today!

Denise you look so beautiful!! I had such an amazing time at TK Conference and I have not been able to stop talking about “The lady who created Matilda Jane” to my friends. My favorite part was when you were talking numbers and it was really like you were reading them for the first time. You are obviously doing this because it is your love and your passion and not about numbers and that is so inspiring. I cannot in my wildest dreams believe that I am now part of such an amazing company run by such talented and compassionate women (and a few men)!!

I’m still very new to Matilda Jane, but I have to say that I have already decided that I am a customer as long as my baby girl can squeeze into your clothes…which by the way is about another 12 years or so…she’s only 8 months old!

I love your little drawing of where to place a pocket.
Pockets are very important to my four year old daughter. When she gets a new dress she immediately checks for pockets and when she finds them a big smile lights up her face. You can fit a lot of love in a little pocket.
Denise-You are BEAUTIFUL!!!! I have been following your story since day one. My very dear college BFF was diagnosed wiht bladder cancer last June. She lives in the Dayton, Ohio area. Her cancer was so far advanced when detected. She has also battled Crohns Disease since she was very young. After several 2nd opinions and many many tests her and her husband decided that the best place for her to be treated was MDAnderson. She had to leave her 2 year old and 6 year old son and move down to Texas. Her chemo was VERY intense. Her hair was gone very soon after her first treatment. I often wondered if she and you ever passed one another in the halls or the parking lot. I know MDAnderson is a huge facility but it is sometimes such a small small world. My friend (Jennifer) got a pass to go home for one long weekend in October and then she was home for Christmas. I am happy to report that the chemo did it’s job and she had her 15 hour surgery last Friday to remove her bladder and a few other parts. Because of her Crohns Disease, they knew the bladder would eventually have to be removed. She did awesome in the surgery and is now traveling down the very long and painful road to recovery and going home for good. The doctors report that all the cancer and Crohns is gone! No signs of either. God is Good! Jen is a true champion (just like YOU)and is making progress each and every day. Despite the pain, she pushes forward. I have purchased some of the MJ tees for her. The oh so soft material feels so wonderful on her skin. And I think she is going to look adorable in a pair of big ruffles!
…anyway, I just wanted to thank you for creating such a fabulous product and company and for sharing your journey…it helped me to understand more better what my dear friend was going through. Although I have never met you, I know we would be instant friends, along with Jen! God Bless You Denise!

Denise, I just wanted to tell you I still LOVE Matilda Jane, my sweet Grace Evelyn has been wearing it for years and I used to check the blog daily but life has gotten much busier as the kids have gotten older and I am not on here as frequently. I read this post the other day and just felt like I should let you know I am still a fan, I have been praying for you and your family and I still have my Hammond Bay room key! Seeing that key just brought back memories of a slower time in life, younger kids, less activities, less work, less worry, more fun! I miss those days but I am enjoying every stage the kids are going through and am glad my sweet girl still loves MJ and at almost 10 years old she can still find things that work for her style and age. Thank you for all that you have done for others and thanks for providing these darling clothes that have grown with us all the way through elementary school!! We are looking forward to our seasonal 2nd release show here in Asheville, NC and hope we have many more seasons of MJ in our future!
