love at first sight

First MJC box sticker I ever laid my eyes on. I knew it when I saw it.

Days like today remind me of when I first started at MJC. It was in the Fall and it was getting chilly, but not jacket whether yet. I remember walking up to Fairfield Manor (MJC’s first home besides Denise’s living room) scared out of my mind. I had worked at stores before, but this wasn’t a store it was a Company. I don’t know why, but for some reason that made all the difference to me. I walked in, as Denise describes it “like a big ball of sunshine” (more like a shaky girl who can’t stop sweating),  and that was that. I was hired on the spot. They must have REALLY needed someone to pack! Ha. And after that? It’s all history. 3 years of it for me.

Does anyone remember when I had my own MJC blog? That goofy little thing. You have no idea how flattering it was to write for Matilda Jane and to be able to write TO YOU. I mean, back in the day Denise was the only blogger at MJC and to me it was HUGE that I had my own blog, for however long it lasted. My how things have changed, now we have a blogging schedule! You can expect to hear from me on Mondays, Kayla on Wednesdays, and Desi or Carrie on Fridays. Of course you will hear from Denise anywhere in between. Now I bet some of you have noticed it’s Tuesday…But hey! I’m gonna try to stick to the schedule ; )

I haven’t had a contest in forever and all this talk of my old blog has me sentimental. How about the first person to leave the link to my old MJC blog as a comment will get something good from the new 433 building. You know what that means—Platinum!

Oh, even better! Whoever tells me who signed a contract to clean our first MJC fridge each week will get something REALLY good.

I remember meeting you, Sam, at the Plymouth art fair. It was the last one MJ was at, so probably 3 years ago – close to when you started.

It was a super hot day at the art fair, and you were working sorting and hanging clothes from the u-haul. You helped me find a few things.

You were wearing a cute skirt, maybe a tween size one. And yep, I think a ball of sunshine is an accurate phrase – even though you were working hard in the heat, you were still shining. Congrats on 3+ years 🙂
