There’s been so many great blog posts lately by Sam and Kayla that I must admit, I am a little intimidated. I guess that’s the reason I have been sitting here for the last 15 trying to decide what to write. Ha, I know what to write, but the story that surrounds the idea is 1/2 as important if not more! Ahhh…those young MJC girls are taking over.

What an amazing group and gorgeous, huh? We’re missing Renee, Amber, Steve, Becky, John, Zelda, and Adam. I think that’s it. It seems every season more talent jumps on board as we try to hold tight the core of MJC and build a better company for you. I could not be any happier with what the next few years will bring. At conference I was asked the question “What is my dream?” I pondered for a few. The first thing on my mind is I want my kids to be happy and not selfish. Those of you with kids know it is tough. I swear right now it is extra hard. I feel like I am constantly reminding my boys they are part of the household and they also have responsibilities. And ok, I admit, there are quite a few moments where I sit them down with a real stern voice and explain to them they are being totally selfish and need to start thinking of how others feel. It is so hard. How do you know and when do you know you instilled every core value into them. And yes, I hold the same feeling with MJC. After all, it is my baby too. Not a day goes by that I don’t worry about getting so big that our core message of Spreading the Love is diluted. Yup, so with kids and MJC I have become my grandma..worrying all the time. Gosh, that sound bad, it’s not. I just want everyone to be happy. That way happiness is so much easier to spread.

Speaking of being easier to spread happiness, I am certain this one will be a cinch. It is time to do our Back to School Spread the Love. I’m sure most of you know how it works but for all you new followers I’ll explain it. Spread the Love is quite simple. You nominate anyone that make you smile and you want to return the smile. It can be a teacher, a neighbor, your wife, someone down on their luck, or just a family up the street that you think would love a surprise. You nominate them to us at [email protected]. DO NOT LEAVE IT IS THE COMMENT SECTION. And in turn, once we read through all the nominees we will pick 50+ to send them back to school clothing and supplies. You MUST include address, names, ages, and sizes. If these are not included your nomination will not be accepted. All packages are sent anonymous with a simple note from Matilda Jane.
Okay, had to cover all the formalities. I think this is one of my favorite Spread the Loves, besides Christmas of course. Do you remember going shopping for school supplies. Oh man, I wanted that green Trapper Keeper like it was no one’s business and the kitty folders to go inside. Loved it. And as soon as my boys get back from riding their bikes to Mimi and Papa’s we are on a mission to find the best school supplies out there (within a budget, of course).
Now back to the question “What is my dream?” I think you all know that answer? Am I right? Leave me a comment and we’ll pick a few of you that have the right answer for a surprise. I will give you a hint, it is 4 short words.

“Raising happy, unselfish kiddos.” Me too! I dream of what they will be like all the time. Even the nightmares are helpful because they remind me to always be at my best with my children. I find the best way to instill those core values is to focus on being the example…. And let me tell you, Denise, you are! I love this blog post. I can relate so much to the part about teaching kids and so much admire moms like you. I work daily to instill those core values in my young girls and though my girls have much, I want them to learn it is much more rewarding to give than to receive and to feel the joy and thanksgiving that comes with helping others.
